2008 Region E Rally

it down to the happenings in Region E. With a combination of great people and

We finally have some preliminary information confirmed for
the Region E Rally. You may have heard that Shoal's Bend RV sold last fall.
The new owner delayed us a great deal but, in the end, was unwilling to work
with us at all. Combined with the requests of some members for new routes and
roads, we opted to move the rally to Eureka Springs, Arkansas. We then got into
the situation that since Eureka Springs is a tourist area catoring mostly to
motorcycles, much of it is closed during the winter months. We made four trips
before getting to talk with anyone about the campgrounds. I'm just glad we
finally succeeded.
The rally will be the first weekend of May at the KOA
about 5 1/2 miles west of Eureka Springs, Ark. The KOA is an older KOA but does
have a nice facility.
The prices are reasonable and the location will work for
us. The roads in the area are fantastic for motorcycles. Eureka Springs is a
tourist town that caters a great deal to motorcycles. Motorcycles are a very
important part of the economy of the town, so we are welcomed with open arms.
You will see lots of bikes. The roads in the area are a major attraction for
riders.
I have attached a flyer for the event. We are still
working on some details but I'm sure we'll have a good time. Hope you can make
it.
